Presenter Bio

Ann Kovalchick is Associate Vice Chancellor and Chief Information Officer at the University of California, Merced. As the senior IT leader, her work has focused on building capacity that ensures information technologies support the university mission. With a Ph.D. in Instructional Design from the University of Virginia and an MA in Public Anthropology from American University, her professional interests include ethnographic methods, human systems design, and theories of sense-making. Previously, she served as CIO at Drake University, Deputy CIO at Tulane University, and Director of Academic Computing at Ohio University.
